Roughton & District WI

Roughton &  District WI was formed on 26th January 1932 althought there were a few years when it was suspended.  The group not only belong to the WI for what it stands for but ladies who like to socialize and enjoy themselves and make new friends.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month in the Village Hall, which is located on Chapel Road, Roughton (opposite the Metton turning).  Meetings commence at 7.30pm and tea and coffee is served prior which allows time to chat and make new friends.  Meetings usually start with a speaker, followed by a short break when members can again socialize and look at the correspondence.  This is then followed by the business.  A raffle is held at each meeting to raise funds for the running of the WI.  There is a competition each month relating to the subject of the meeting.  Members who have a birthday during the month are presented with a small posy of flowers.  Guests are always welcome and are asked to pay a fee of £3 towards the WI expenses.  The website address for more information is www.roughtonwi.org.uk
